Installing the Decoy Brain in the Browning Motion
Decoys requires the extra task of cutting open the sealed back and
resealing (especially if equipped with a remote control unit), with
JB WELD or a similar epoxy glue. Note that in our experience that
Silicone or similar compounds will not adhere to the unit as well
as the JB Weld or Epoxy does.
Using a small sharp knife, cut open the Spinning Wing Decoy
following the seam from the original factory cutting. Note that the
top piece is not cut off all the way so just cut up to this
existing stopping point.
Locate the two wires that attach to the motor unit. On the
units without remote control the wires are BLACK and RED/BLACK. On
the units with remote control these wires are BLACK and
ORANGE/BLACK. Cut these two wires about two inches from the motor
and strip back all four cut wire ends about 3/8".
Attach the BLACK wire on the motor to the BLACK wire on
the BRAIN that is paired with the GREEN wire. Attach the
RED/BLACK (ORANGE /BLACK with remote control) on the motor to
the GREEN wire on the DECOY BRAIN. Attach the RED wire from
the DECOY BRAIN to the RED/BLACK ( ORANGE/BLACK with remote
control) cut loose from the motor. Attach the BLACK wire from the
BRAIN to the BLACK wire cut loose from the motor.
Attach the BRAIN unit to the top of the battery mount
using the provided Velcro and then refer to the Switch Settings
and Tips and
Tricks pages for proper settings and
suggestions.
Before resealing the unit, remember to test it as your
settings cannot be changed without cutting it open again. We
recommend 6 Seconds off and 4 Seconds on but your personal
preference is at your fingertips. After you have selected your
desired switch
settings, apply the Adhesive and rest the unit on its
back and allow to dry.
On our Browning Duck Like units without Remotes, we did not
seal the units but utilized instead a Velcro strap from the rear of
the top unit to the tail piece to allow for accessibility. We do
not recommend this for the units with Remote Control as the housing
contains Electronic Parts and may be damaged with moisture.
